A community-led cultural project incorporating the historic Grade III Listed Museum, Public Library and Archive in Jamestown, St Helena. The project will be released for fund-raising Winter 2020.
The St Helena Cultural Centre (SHCC) will bring together the St Helena Museum, the Jamestown Public Library and provide purpose designed spaces for the sensitive St Helena Archives – which cannot be found anywhere else in the world. In the SHCC, these three institutions will be able to share their resources under one roof and offer a modern, educational, archive, research and exhibition centre for the Island – fitted with a digital hub for Saints. The library will take centre stage, acting as a modern educational, communication and learning resource for residents.
The project is a community initiative and will be entirely developed through fundraising. MWAI are currently providing their expertise pro bono.
