A Georgian Townhouse Marylebone, London

A full-service renovation of a Grade II listed Georgian home.

MWAI refurbished and extended a 5,200 sqft Grade II Listed Georgian townhouse in Marylebone. The design balances original period features with modern updates, including reinstated coving, chimneypieces, and a historically aligned rear extension.

Bricks from the original structure were reclaimed and reused to reduce embodied carbon. Air source heat pumps were installed to improve energy efficiency. MWAI supported the client from the outset, conducting a feasibility study to assess planning and conservation constraints before purchase.

Planning and listed building consent were secured through close coordination with local authorities. MWAI remained involved throughout construction, ensuring the design was delivered accurately. The internal layout was reconfigured for contemporary family living, with a ground floor infill extension, roof terrace, and integrated utility and entertainment spaces.

This project exemplifies our ability to deliver thoughtful, elegant and highly functional design within complex heritage settings, all while providing a full service approach from pre-purchase advice through to completion.
