Chesterford Home Hampstead, London
A home tailored to the rhythm of a growing family.
A MWAIBUILD turnkey project. Set within Hampstead’s Redington & Frognal Conservation Area, this Victorian red-brick semi-detached house was transformed by MWAI into a bespoke family home. The original layout was formal and outdated, with oversized reception rooms and adult-oriented finishes. The new owners, relocating from abroad, needed a complete refurbishment—delivered to a tight deadline.
MWAI ran design and construction phases in parallel, employing contractor Margreiter and using its turnkey service MWAI BUILD to meet the brief, budget and move-in date. The result is a ground-to-gable transformation completed in just 14 months.
The refurbishment introduced energy-saving measures, including full external wall insulation and a whole-house ventilation system. Contemporary finishes—off-white polished plaster, decorative wallpapers, custom marble sinks—are paired with acoustic panelling, open-grain veneer joinery and rustic engineered timber floors. A bespoke kitchen by Lanserring, crowned with a custom chandelier, anchors the home.
Upstairs, MWAI reconfigured bedrooms for privacy and flexibility. The children’s spaces feature playful motifs, custom lighting and colourful Corian surfaces. A second-floor kitchenette supports family life, while the redesigned garden offers safe play and sun-trap seating.
This is a home shaped by urgency and artistry—where every detail reflects the client’s lifestyle and MWAI’s craft-led approach.
