A workplace shaped by clarity, restraint and renewal
MWAI are commissioned to lead the architectural retrofit and extension of an office building on Conduit Street, located within the Mayfair Conservation Area in Westminster. The project, for Balkan Holidays, focused on delivering a low-carbon refurbishment within a tightly constrained urban site.
The design strategy centred on improving energy performance while respecting the heritage context. A rear extension was introduced to optimise usable space, and the retrofit incorporated sustainable materials and systems to reduce operational carbon. MWAI worked closely with consultants Ascribe, P3R and Morgan to ensure the project met both environmental and planning requirements.
